Mobile Money Services (Lumicash and Ecocash)
Lumicash
Safeways Travel is an accredited Super-Agent of Lumicash. Our clients are able to transfer money, withdraw cash, buy airtime, pay for goods or services anywhere in Burundi with low cost from your mobile phone. Safeways Travel clients can as well purchase tickets or pay for courier services using Lumicash service at any of Safeways Travel Sub-offices.
Ecocash
Safeways Travel is an Agent of Ecocash, which is money transfer service of the Mobile operator Econet Wireless. Ecocash allows money transfer between the different mobile networks in Burundi. In addition to money transfers, users are able to pay bills at several participating hotels, restaurants, schools and utilities. Econet Wireless has over 300,000 clients in Burundi and 8,000 are already using Ecocash.
Safeways Travel clients are able to purchase tickets or pay for courier services using Ecocash service at any of Safeways Travel Sub-offices.
KCB Iwacu Agent Banking
Safeways is KCB Iwacu Agent Banking in Bujumbura, Buganda, Cibitoke and Rugombo
With KCB Iwacu it is now more convenient to deposit and withdraw money in your neighborhod!
Cash Deposit

Present your cash, ID/passport and account details to Safeways staff at the counter

The Safeways staff at the counter will initiate a transfer transaction through the KCB mobile banking platform.

Once the transaction is complete both you and Safeways staff at the counter will receive a confirmation SMS

Sign the transaction register and get a receipt
Cash Withdrawal

While at Safeways KCB Iwacu counter, dial *522#, under the KCB Iwacu option and initiate transaction, give the Safeways staff at the counter your ID card or Passport.

You and the Safeways staff at the counter will receive a confirmation SMS on the successful withdrawal with reference number.

Receive the cash

Sign the register and get receipt
Utility Services Payment

Present your ATM card plus the relevant commission, ID/passport and utility reference details to the Safeways staff at the counter

The Safeways staff at the counter will initiate a transfer transaction through the KCB mobile banking platform.

Once the transaction is complete both you and the agent will receive a confirmation SMS

Sign the transaction register.

The Safeways staff at the counter will issue you with a KCB Iwacu Acknowledgement Receipt for the transaction.
Rent, School Fees Payment

Present your cash, ID/passport and your landlord/School account details to the Safeways staff at the counter

The Safeways staff at the counter will initiate a transfer transaction through the KCB mobile banking platform.

Once the transaction is complete both you and the Safeways staff at the counter will receive a confirmation SMS
